Accepted Answer

It depends on the scope. For cosmetic refurbishments affecting one or two rooms, you can usually remain in the property. For full house refurbishments involving structural work, rewiring, or replumbing, we strongly recommend moving out for your comfort and safety. We can phase works to allow partial occupation where possible.

How long does a full house refurbishment take?

Accepted Answer

A full house refurbishment typically takes 8-16 weeks depending on the size and complexity. A cosmetic refresh of a flat might take 4-6 weeks, while a large Victorian house requiring structural alterations could take 16-20 weeks. We provide a detailed programme at quotation stage with clear milestones.

Question 3

Are there hidden costs I should know about?

Not with SuperBuilder. We provide a fixed-price quotation that covers all works described in the specification. The only additional costs that can arise are if you request changes or additions during the build, or if concealed defects are discovered (e.g., hidden rot or asbestos). We always consult you before incurring any additional cost.

What happens if you find structural issues during the work?

Accepted Answer

Concealed structural issues are not uncommon in older London properties. If we discover problems such as subsidence, timber decay, or failed lintels, we stop work in that area, document the issue, obtain a structural engineer report, and present you with options and costs before proceeding. We never carry out additional work without your written approval.

Question 5

What warranty do you provide?

All our refurbishment projects come with a 5-year workmanship warranty backed by insurance. This covers all trades including plumbing, electrics, carpentry, plastering, tiling, and decoration. Manufacturer warranties apply separately to products such as boilers, sanitary ware, and appliances.

Do you provide project management?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every refurbishment project is assigned a dedicated project manager who coordinates all trades, manages the programme, and is your single point of contact throughout. You receive weekly progress updates with photographs, and have access to our online project management portal.
